"HTTP (401) 401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials." Error when Trying to Access retsmd

  • retag add tags

Hi,

Tahoe Sierra Board of REALTORS supplied me with a RETS username and password today, but whenever I try to use them to access RETS MD, I get the following error - "HTTP (401) 401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials. Server Error 401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied."

I have tried RETS MD with both 1.7.2 and 1.8 RETS versions, and I get the same error each time. When I try to use the credentials with RETS Connector, a small login window pops up, with the following message - "The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized. Please specify correct credentials."

Below is the RETS URL and Username that I have been using -

RETS URL - http://tsierra-rets.paragonrels.com/r...

Username – 10204

Can you please help me to resolve this issue so that I can access RETS MD and RETS Connector for Tahoe Sierra Board of REALTORS? Thank you!

I tested your account and was able to login, download metadata, and search without issues.
Are you sure you are using the correct credentials?
Make sure you include any special characters in the password.

Were you able to get this working?

I was not able to get this working. I am trying to use the credentials that the MLS provided to me, but I get that same error every single time.

Can you try the full login URL in a browser including the rets-version parameter in the URL.
When it prompts, enter your credentials.

I tried that. Whenever I enter my credentials and click "Sign In", it just clears my credentials away. No message comes up when that happens. It just clears away what I put in the Username and Password fields.

If you can't use it in a browser like that, most likely you have the wrong password or missed some characters when you copied it. Make sure you include any punctuation characters.

Were you able to get valid credentials?

One of my developers tried to log into RETS Connector with the credentials, and he received a message. He let me know that the message makes it seem like the MLS switched to Digest auth. Could that be causing the issue that is preventing us from logging in?

With HTTP RETS URL you need to use DIGEST authentication
With HTTPS RETS URL you need to use BASIC authentication.
