ODBC Access to RETS Server [closed]

I prepare monthly statistical reports for the a local MLS system. I access their data through a RETS feed that I access using Online Database Connectivity (ODBC) with the ezRETS ODBC driver. Using this driver, I directly import the data into my statistical software program (Stata 14.1). This has been working fine up until last night.

Now, when I try to access the server through my statistical software, it appears that it is not logging into the RETS server. When query the data, I get the following error message:

The ODBC driver reported the following diagnostics Unable to connect: XML parse error at 3:61: not well-formed (invalid token) SQLSTATE=08001 Could not log into server. SQLSTATE=08001

I tried to diagnose this by testing the login on my ezRETS setup; the test login is working fine.

I also confirmed that I am still able to use my statistical software to access other Paragon based MLS systems that I help. Every other MLS system I serve that uses the FNIS/Paragon server is still working correctly.

Next I tried to connect to the system using ODBC in Excel; here, too, it is unable to login to the server (although it DOES work for other MLS servers).

Once again, it appears that when I try to use an application to access the RETS server I am unable to login, even though I successfully do so in the ODBC Data Source Administrator setup. I use the same process to access data for other MLS systems that use Paragon, and all of these connections are working just fine. The only problem is with this one system, and the problem just arose recently.

Any assistance you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for your question Stan. We're looking into possible issues which may be causing the problem.

Customer Care informed us of the following: URL: Topeka RETS server (http://topekamls.rets.fnismls.com/ret...) User: topekastats

I tried using the corrected URL that you suggested in my other question in my ezRETS setup to try the ODBC access. I also tried updating to RETS version 1.7.2. In both cases, when I test the connection in the Windows driver setup, I am able to login, but I get the same error in Stata.

I did save full log files from ezRETS if you want to see them. Is there a way to attach them here?

Stan -

Want to check in with you, to see if you were able to get your connection working, in the manner you're trying to use?
