why is the StandardName for RE_1 and RN_7 the same in NNEREN feed

  • retag add tags

The RE_1 Class Standard Name is ResidentialProperty, as it should be.

But the RN_7 Class Standard Name is also ResidentialProperty, and it should be Rental or blank

This causes the class to failover and show rental listings, not residential listings if using standard names in the query.

If the StandardName value is blank, then users cannot retrieve any data for that class using STANDARD-XML format. BKFS worked directly with NEREN to determine the best approach and they decided to provide the StandardName value for all classes. That way all classes may be returned using this tformat.

You will find 3 of their property classes that contain the "ResidentialProperty" value: Residential, Rental, Boat Facility. If you would like to use the StandardName value and narrow your results to only listings within the Residential class you may query using the Class field or instead use the Class Name RE_1 instead.

i received an answer to this via email from the NNEREN RETS Team

Clif on this one Paragon says:

This is a mistake on our side. The proper StandardName value for the Rental property class is “ResidentialLease” not “ResidentialProperty”. I have submitted a change for this to be corrected. We will need to perform a RETS Metadata refresh before users will see the change.

and of course the concept of standardized data should mean that all crucial fields are the same and they are not.
