Intermittent "401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials"

  • retag add tags

We are getting "401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials" intermittently while trying to do data pulls for all of our Paragon RETS feeds (we have 162 Paragon MLSes). It seems like every other or 3rd query and is fine with an immediate retry.. until it isn't, no matter the resource or the class. Its acting like 1 server in an array may not have the login credentials and with load balancing, when we hit that server we get the error. This has been going on for a couple days. For testing I've been using our TX Wichita Falls feed, just pulling all active MF_4 properties over and over.

Hello! That message typically means that the resource or specific field being accessed is not enabled for the profile attached to the account. In this case, typically the request must be made to the MLS, to allow the field for that particular feed.

I can definitely verify this for you if you like, however I could not find the above user name in the first few MLS'. It may be different per MLS, but as an example , for Southeast Alaska, could you tell me what Username you are utilizing?

UPDATE: Thank you for the information! We did find this morning, that one of our application boxes was set to the incorrect session storage (We recently made a change in regards to some of our sessions), which was causing 401 issues, intermittently for our customers on a specific environment. All of which you have named are ones that would reside on the environment, so this should be resolved now! Please let us know if you have any additional issues with this.

Hi, we'er using Login URL : https://seamls.rets.paragonrels.com/r... User : 'RETS4FitzGerald'

I'd agree with you about the resource or field not being activated except then wouldn't it throw back the error every single time?

I can make the same exact query with a separate login and log out 10 times and it will fail 5 or 6 time, but return all the data just fine the other 4 or 5. Ex query: https://seamls.rets.paragonrels.com/r...

This is getting to be really bad... we are unable to update our data for these 26 MLSes and pretty soon our customers are going to start noticing and calling. I'm going to have to have them contact you if we don't clear this up soon.
