client and agent hit counts appear as delta?

I need to know if incrementing the client or agent hit count would appear to a RETS client as a delta worthy of consumption. It feels as though our client and agent hit count data lags for some reason, updating more episodically, like when some other change to the listing flags the client for consumption... or perhaps a bath process that touches listings daily. Please advise. If a listing has an agent hit count of 10, and another agent hit is recorded, will clients see that listing as changed?
